This is an advanced book to read in Latin, relative to our library. Suetonius writes fairly long sentences with almost no dialogue, and you need a wide vocabulary to cover most of the text, including many specialised words of Roman public life such as the circus, gladiators, litters, the praetorian guard and triumphs. Come back to it after easier prose, since the life of each emperor is a run of facts, anecdotes and quoted letters rather than a story that carries you along.
